The world of Blogging can be quite the adventure, but also very intimidating at times. As a new blogger, I’m still figuring this whole thing out! Take last night for instance; I just realized that I can add a “manual excerpt” to my postings, instead of using the automatically generated excerpt that’s taken from the beginning of each post. Seems like a miniscule detail, but it can make the difference between readers skipping over the post, or choosing to click on the “continue reading” button to find out more.
This is why I decided to create Resources, an entire section of my blog dedicated to helping other bloggers. To jump-start your blogging process, I’ve already posted two tutorials, How to START a Blog and How to DESIGN a Blog. I’ve also started a list of other great resources for bloggers, all of which I have or currently use for Life Of A Shooter’s Wife™. One thing for sure, this list will never be finished, and I’ll keep sharing the things I stumble upon throughout my blogging journey. You’ll find there is already lots of information available for bloggers and it’s easy to feel overloaded. So make sure you takes lots of notes and document everything you do on your blog. Clarity of mind is so important when managing your own blog, so being organized is key.
I hope my ideas and recommendations will help get your creative juices flowing, and encourage you to also share what inspires you! Do you have a go-to website or favorite Plugin? If you do, leave a comment below and let me know what your personal favorites are. Don’t keep all that blogging goodness to yourself!
