We had 62 shooters compete this weekend, 30 on Saturday and 32 on Sunday. The crowds were bigger than I expected, which left me scrambling to assemble enough targets. Two beautiful days weather wise made the weekend that much better. When the smoke cleared, we awarded three Legs each day, a Sliver and two Bronze.
On Saturday, Wisconsin's Mike Stewart took home the Gold Medal and Silver Leg. Distinguished Shooter Larry Weidell took home the Silver Medal. Morgan Dietrich proved he's the master of anything he shoots by taking home the Bronze Medal and the first Bronze Leg. And your's truly picked up the second Bronze Leg, giving me my 7th Bronze medal, and 42 leg points. At least it would if CMP hadn't already notified me that they won't award me another Bronze Leg because I already have 30 points.
Sunday's match saw Wisconsin's James Melville finally beating his son Bryan, and winning the Gold Medal and Silver Leg. Distinguished shooter Brandon Swanson won the Silver Medal. Distinguished shooter Bryan Melville took home the Bronze Medal. Morgan Dietrich picked up the first Bronze, and Michael Stewart took home the 2nd Bronze Leg.
It was good to see a lot of new faces, including a large contingent from Post 435 Gun Club.
Thanks to all!
