Saturday Morning brought to us a beautiful sunny shooting day. The winds were light and variable in true Gopher fashion. 12 shooters showed up to compete for leg points, and after a short morning practice the match got underway. Randy Blaha from post 435 Taking the days only leg, a six pointer, and the match win with a 474-17x. Ross Opsahl and Tom Jones followed closely with a pair of 470’s and Kurt Borlaug with a 460.
Sunday came, and so did the rain. After the match on Saturday, it looked like we wouldn’t have the same participation on Sunday. With Aaron Guliuzza driving in from Aberdeen SD, I decided it would be a good idea to go home and get my gear to make sure we could have six non-distinguished shooters and still give away a leg. With the help of Mark Havlik, and Mark Rohmann, I was able to take home my first Leg Points. Aaron was the Match winner with a 481-15. I came in second with a 476-11 to take the leg, with Mark Havlik right behind turning in a 470-12. We were just firing the last shots as the rain came down. Big thanks to Mark Rohmann not only for shooting, but also for helping to run the line on Sunday, which allowed me to shoot.
